Norbert BECKMANN-DIERKES
Director for Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Bulgaria
Since 1993, Norbert Beckmann-Dierkes has worked for Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in various positions. Since 2015 he has been the Representative of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Bulgaria. Before that, he was the Representative of the KAS in Serbia and Montenegro between 2012 and 2015. From 2008 to 2012 he was the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation‘s Representative in Latvia, Lithuania, Scandinavia and Baltic Sea Cooperation. In 2007 – 2008 he was also desk-officer of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for Central and Eastern Europe; Scandinavia and Baltic Sea Cooperation; EU-Russia–Dialogue; and European and International Cooperation. In parallel, he had several teaching assignments at German universities, including the University Leipzig and the Helmut Schmidt University.
Mr. Beckmann-Dierkes studied Politics, Geography, and History at Westphalia Wilhelms University in Münster. Between 2006 and 2010 he was the Deputy Mayor of Loburg and the Deputy Chairman of CDU of the county Jerichow. From 2004 to 2006 he chaired the board of directors of the regional transport company of county Jerichow. Between 1996 and 2011 he was the Executive Director at Friends of Schloss Wendgräben e.V.
