Kimmo Kiljunen has been a Member of the Parliament in Finland since 2019. Before that, he held the same position between 1995 and 2011. He is member of the Social Democratic Parliamentary Group and participates in the work of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Grand Committee since April 2023. He became Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee in September 2023.

Mr. Kiljunen has been also member of the Finnish Delegation to the Council of Europe since June 2023 and from September 2023 he has been the Chair of this delegation. Since January 2022 he has been member of the Board of The Finnish Institute of International Affairs.
