Csaba MAROSVÁRI
Deputy State Secretary for Energy Security at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary
Csaba Marosvári is Hungary’s Deputy State Secretary for Energy Security, a position he has held since June 2023. Prior to this, he spent nearly ten years in the Hungarian natural gas industry. Most of his experience was gained at the national energy conglomerate MVM Group, where he contributed to the company’s gas wholesale market expansion in Central and Eastern Europe, efforts to diversify gas supply sources and routes, and its entry into new business areas such as LNG and upstream. He played a key role in securing long–term supply contracts, including a 2021 agreement with Gazprom and LNG supply contracts for the Krk LNG terminal in 2020, which form the backbone of Hungary’s gas supply for this decade. He has received MVM Group’s highest professional award, the MVM Prima. He has also published articles on the commercial and geopolitical aspects of natural gas supply and is a highly sought–after speaker at international and domestic natural gas industry conferences. He holds an undergraduate degree from Corvinus University of Budapest and graduate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Hult International Business School – Shanghai Campus.
