In Ágnes Vass’s research, she focuses on the domestic and foreign policy issues of Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as broader Central European matters, and the relationship between minority and majority populations in this region. Prior to joining HIIA, she served as the head of the ambassadorial office at the Canadian Embassy. Before that, she was the head of the European Relations Office at the Antall József Knowledge Centre. As a research associate at the University of Alberta, she studied Central European migration to Western Canada, and at the Research Institute for Minority Studies of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, she participated in research projects examining the Hungarian minority beyond the borders. She earned her doctoral degree from Corvinus University, focusing on issues of dual citizenship through simplified naturalization in Hungary, particularly among Hungarians in Slovakia and Canada.
