Gubad Ibadoghlu holds a PhD in Economics from the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). He commenced his career at the Economic Research Center. He was a member of the Steering Committee of the EU Eastern Partnership Program’s Civil Society Forum from 2011 to 2012 and served as a representative of Eurasian civil society to the International Board of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) from 2013 to 2019. Gubad Ibadoghlu was elected as the first chair of the Azerbaijan Think Tank Association and Movement for Democracy and Prosperities in Azerbaijan. Currently, he is a member of the Advisory Board of the CAREC Think Tank Network. Before his current position, he worked as a research and teaching fellow at several prestigious higher education institutions, including the Central European University in Budapest, the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, and the Rutgers’ Centre for European Studies.
