Mr. Anžej Frangeš has worked in the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2003, mostly dealing with the region of Western Balkans and EU enlargement.  He has also served as a Foreign Affairs Adviser in the Prime Minister’s Office, and from 2018 to 2022, he was Slovenian Ambassador to the Republic of Bulgaria.

In 2022, he was appointed Special Envoy for the Western Balkans at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and since March 2023 he has been Director-General in the Directorate for European Affairs.
