András Braun joined IRI in June 2021 and works as a Program Officer in the Institute’s Central European Office. Previously he was working for a Hungarian think tank’s representation office in Brussels, and also got experience in the EU’s enlargement policy while he was a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission.

He earned his Ph.D. degree in Political Sciences in 2020 from the Eötvös Lóránd University in Budapest, Hungary. He also had the opportunity to study the democratic transition of the Western Balkans while he was in Sarajevo and Belgrade for a research scholarship between 2016 and 2017.
