Branimir Jovanović is an economist at the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw), where he is responsible for covering the Western Balkans region. Prior to his current position, he served as an advisor to the Minister of Finance of North Macedonia between 2017 and 2019 and as a researcher at the Central Bank of North Macedonia between 2007 and 2015. He has experience in various fields, including EU integration, regional economic cooperation, financial crises, and foreign direct investment. In addition to his professional pursuits, Branimir Jovanović has also been socially active in his home country of North Macedonia, where he has been involved in various social movements, including the Colourful Revolution. He holds a PhD from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” in Italy and a Master’s degree from Staffordshire University in the UK.
