Florent Marciacq is deputy secretary general of the Austro-French Centre for Rapprochement in Europe (ÖFZ), an intergovernmental organisation based in Vienna and attached to the French Institute for International Relations (IFRI). He is also Director of the Observatoire des Balkans at the Fondation Jean Jaurès in Paris and a Senior Fellow at the Centre International de Formation Européenne in Berlin and Nice. Florent Marciacq is a co-founder and coordinator of several Track II initiatives focusing on national approaches to European foreign policy issues, European strategic autonomy, EU enlargement, the Western Balkans, and the Eastern neighbourhood. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Vienna and Luxembourg and previously graduated in International Relations, Management, and Sinology. In the past, Florent Marciacq worked as an associate researcher at the European Governance Research Group of the University of Luxembourg, an OSCE researcher-in-residence in Prague, and a guest researcher at the Austrian Defence Academy in Vienna.
